Artwork of melted ice cream in the shape of Planet earth

Exhibition: Earth Footprint

Created by artists from Access Arts’ Brisbane Outsider Artists, Digital Media and Professional Artists’ Workshop, Earth Footprint is the third exhibition within the walls of St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital.

With COVID restrictions back in place, and Brisbane’s snap three day lockdown, we unfortunately had to postpone this week’s scheduled launch event at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital, but we couldn’t wait to share these incredible artworks with the world, so you can still view the entire collection online.

There are 56 artworks in the Earth Footprint exhibition, so while you’re spending more time at home, why not take a look at the amazing artworks our artists with disability have created.

The ‘Earth Footprint’ theme was chosen by Access Arts’ artists. Each artist has found his or her own meaning and resonance within this concept. For some it relates directly to current ecological concerns and the impact that humanity has had on the environment. For others, it links to their own connection with nature: flora, fauna, and place. This exhibition presents as a quadrant of rich activity, as dynamic and diverse as the earth it relates to.

Thank you for supporting our artists with disability through viewing and promoting this exhibition and purchasing the artworks. We hope that the exhibition will be open to the public at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital soon, but in the meantime we hope you enjoy the online viewing and find a new art piece for your collection.
