Visual Arts Workshops

Our Visual Arts workshops provide members with a supportive, inclusive and creative environment to engage with various art forms, encouraging positive social interaction, a strong sense of community, and artistic expression of each individual.

Anyone is welcome to attend these workshops, whether or not you experience a disability and irrespective of your previous experience. Support is available to participate in all our programs. See our Disability Access Policy for further details on how we can assist and feel free to contact us to discuss your needs. If you would prefer, we can work with you to develop a tailored program to meet the individual needs of your group. Feel free to contact us at any time to discuss your ideas.

Enrolment and Payment

To enrol, please contact the Access Arts office via phone on 07 3505 0311 to ensure the workshop is right for you. Fill out an enrollment form and return it to Access Arts via email info@accessarts.org.au or post to Unit 7, 65-69 Macgregor Terrace, Bardon QLD 4065.

Brisbane Outsider Artists’ Studio (BOA)

The Brisbane Outsider Artists’ Studio (BOA) is for artists who want to develop their visual arts skills to a professional standard. BOA provides a self-directed learning environment in which artists are supported to reach their individual artistic goals. Artists receive professional development support, access to a variety of visual arts materials, and opportunities to exhibit in quality exhibitions. The BOA studio is open on Mondays and Tuesdays from 10:00am – 3:00pm. Before attending the BOA studio in Eight Mile Plains, members are requested to make an appointment with Access Arts to present and discuss their arts practice.

The Art of Photography

Formerly known as The Camera Wanderers, this new workshop, ‘The Art of Photography’ invites its participants to explore Brisbane anew through the photographic lens. This unique workshop is for individuals to participate in a workshop with  a twist ! Our expert facilitator will support you to learn basic, advanced and creative skills. The group members critique and encourage each other’s developing practice in a supportive, non-competitive environment. Expect fun and social photographic excursions in Brisbane’s CBD, plus exciting editing project-based workshops, suitable for all skill levels.

Day/Time: Tuesday, 10:00am – 12:30pm

Dates: Term 1: Tuesday 23 January – Tuesday 27 March (10 weeks)

Venue: Various locations around Brisbane CBD

Cost: $80 per term, to be paid to Access Arts two weeks before the term begins

 


Freeform Drawing and Watercolour Workshop

This workshop is suitable for the complete beginner as well as the experienced artist. Learn new skills. Learn new skills. Have fun exploring traditional and non-traditional drawing and watercolour techniques. All materials provided by us. Just bring your imagination!

Day/Time: Thursdays, 9:30am – 12:30pm

Colour Play Workshop

BE BOLD! BE COLOURFUL!

In this fun workshop you will learn all about colour and individual expression. Drawing, painting and all other mixed media materials provided. Just come along, explore and create! Workshop suitable for all levels.
