Visual Arts Workshops

Our Visual Arts workshops provide members with a supportive, inclusive and creative environment to engage with various art forms, encouraging positive social interaction, a strong sense of community, and artistic expression of each individual.

Anyone is welcome to attend these workshops, whether or not you experience a disability and irrespective of your previous experience. Support is available to participate in all our programs. Brisbane Outsider Artists’ Studio (BOA)

The Brisbane Outsider Artists’ Studio (BOA) is for artists who want to develop their visual arts skills to a professional standard. BOA provides a self-directed learning environment in which artists are supported to reach their individual artistic goals. Artists receive professional development support, access to a variety of visual arts materials, and opportunities to exhibit in quality exhibitions. The BOA studio is open on Mondays and Tuesdays from 10:00am – 3:00pm. Before attending the BOA studio in Eight Mile Plains, members are requested to make an appointment with Access Arts to present and discuss their arts practice.

Professional Artists’ Workshop

The Professional Artists’ Workshop is for artists who want to develop their visual arts skills to a professional standard. Camera Wanderers

Our expert facilitators will support you to learn basic, advanced and creative photography skills.

We offer workshops in one-on-one Skills Building Support or for groups of 2 or 3 people. These flexible sessions are designed to closely respond to individual support needs and artistic goals.

Expect fun photographic outings and editing project-based sessions suitable for all skill levels.

Mixed Media Visual Arts Workshop

This workshop is suitable for the complete beginner as well as the experienced artist. Learn new skills. Have fun exploring traditional and non-traditional drawing and painting techniques. In addition workshop participants will have the opportunity to experiment and develop new skills in 3D modelling and make basic jewellery. Workshop suitable for all levels. All materials provided by us. Just bring your imagination!

Day/Time: Thursdays, 9:30am – 12:30pm or 1:00pm – 4:00pm
