Access Arts workshops – COVID-19 update

At Access Arts and CPL, the health and safety of our participants and our employees is our number one priority. We have been closely monitoring the evolving COVID-19 situation to implement preventative measures, in line with government requirements, to prevent the spread of the virus.

Today, we have made the difficult decision to cancel all Access Arts workshops until further notice. This includes the remaining workshops scheduled for the rest of Term One.

While we have not had a confirmed case of COVID-19 within our participant group or any of the employees or volunteers who support our programs, we believe the social distancing requirements will be difficult to implement consistently across all of our programs.

We understand this will be disappointing for many of you, especially those who are working towards displaying your artwork or performing in the near future.

Although the workshops are not running, we encourage you all to continue with your artistic practice and keep in touch with the Access Arts team during this time.

At this stage, we cannot confirm whether workshops will continue in Term Two. The situation is rapidly evolving and Access Arts – as part of CPL – will continue to monitor the situation and take advice from the Australian Government, so we can make a decision which is in the best interest of our participants and our employees.

Thank you to each of you for being a valued member of Access Arts thus far. You will continue to receive email and text message updates from CPL as the situation changes. Though many of these may not specifically apply to you, you may find them useful in staying abreast of sector responses and developments.

Take care and stay safe.

Yours sincerely
