Community Sharing Week at Access Arts

We’re opening the doors to our new studio in Yeronga for a community sharing week, Monday 14 October to Thursday 17 October 2019.

Come along and tour the new studio, meet the artists, participate in a workshop, or just learn more about what we do.

Monday 14 & Tuesday 15 October – Meet the BOA Artists

What: Brisbane Outsider Artists’ (BOA) Studio
Where: 50 Shottery St, Yeronga 4104
Time: 10:00am – 3:00pm

BOA is a development workshop for professional artists with disability or disadvantage to develop and create works for exhibition. Join us for a tour of the new studio and meet some of our talented BOA artists.

Each artist takes an individual approach when exploring their personal art making process, and have unique plans and experiences of how they prepare for exhibition.

Visiting artists can participate in a free workshop at BOA and create your own collage, drawing, painting or mosaic.

Wednesday 16 October – Meet the PAW Artists

What: Professional Artists’ Workshop (PAW)
Where: 50 Shottery St, Yeronga 4104
Time: 10:00am – 3:00pm

Our PAW Artists develop their professional practice by creating works for upcoming exhibitions and projects. Tour the studio and meet the PAW artists to hear about the different ways they approach the art making process. See their work in progress and learn more about how they prepare their art for professional exhibition.

Visiting artists can participate in the workshop and create your own artwork.

Thursday 17 October – Create & Grow with the Mixed Media Visual Artists

What: Mixed media visual arts workshop
Where: 50 Shottery St, Yeronga 4104
Time: 9:30am – 12:30pm OR 1:00pm – 4:00pm

Our mixed media visual arts workshops are about building skills, and are open to artists of all levels of experience. The artists explore traditional and non-traditional drawing and painting techniques through different mediums.

Join in as they create hand-painted flower pots – all craft supplies and pots provided.
