Yvonne says “As an artist, I draw inspiration from emotions and lived experiences.  My aim is to convey the sentiments that resonate with me or convey a specific awareness that I want the viewer to perceive. 

Having survived a major stroke, my recovery journey has provided me with invaluable insights into life that I strive to portray through my artwork.  The physical, emotional, and mental challenges I faced have helped me understand that every thought, feeling, and situation can elicit both negative and positive responses. 

In my art, I aspire to instil an optimistic mindset through themes of hope, growth, and healing.  By evoking these emotions, I hope to inspire viewers to find positivity in their own lives and see the potential for growth and transformation even in difficult circumstances”. 

Yvonne has recently shown artwork as part of the Artability Exhibition (2022), at the Open Door Gallery (2023), as part of Through Our Eyes at One Arts Gallery (2023) and as part of Footprints Community (2023).
