Heather Pepperill

Heather is an Indigenous artist who has developed a geometric style over her twelve years of making art.

Coming from a long line of Katyete artists in Central Australia, Heather draws on her experience of being separated from her family, and her concern for their wellbeing. Her experiences with the isolation and constraints of the current pandemic have led her to explore a freer, more chaotic approach to creating artwork.

Heather attends the Brisbane Outsider Artists’ Studio at Access Arts.

Heather has recently exhibited in a series of exhibitions curated by Access Arts at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital including Time (2019), Dreams (2020), Earth Footprint (2021) and Dancing Colours (2022). She has also exhibited in a series of exhibitions curated by Access Arts at KPMG and Brisbane Powerhouse including Celebrating Difference (2019), Visitors (2021) and Looking Back, Looking Forward (2022).
