ABOUT ACCESS ARTS

THROUGH ART, ACCESS ARTS TRANSFORMS LIVES.

Access Arts is Queensland’s leading organisation creating opportunities in the performing and visual arts for people with disability or disadvantage.

Working alongside artists and other industry organisations, Access Arts drives a creative dialogue around how an inclusive arts ecology enriches our arts industry.

WHAT DO WE DO?

We exist to elevate artists working across both visual and performing art mediums, promoting the importance of their art through facilitation, advocacy and education.

We create development opportunities for visual and performing artists to grow their skills, pursue their artistic practice, showcase and sell their work. We advocate for equality for artists with disability within the arts industry.

WHY DOES IT MATTER?

We work beside our artists and believe the ability to engage in creative expression is vital to the realisation of their identity and meaningful growth within our communities.

We believe in an inclusive arts ecology that enriches our society.

Our Story

For 40 years, we have created skill development and career opportunities for our artists, and advocated for all arts activity to be accessible to everyone.

In 2019 Access Arts joined CPL to further our commitment to providing the highest quality arts programs for people with disability or disadvantage. This partnership will allow us to open new opportunities, as well as delivering stability and certainty for Access Arts, our workforce and for our participants. In 2024 to further extend our expertise in building and growing the community performing arts space Screech Arts joined Access Arts. We will continue to work together alongside Screech Arts to create a strong foundation of creativity and inclusion.
