Dion has experimented in a large range of mediums and techniques, including lino printing, acrylic painting, and drawing with coloured pencils and oil pastels.

Dion was inspired to develop his interest and skills in the visual arts from his parents, who are both creative people. He attended Mt Nebo State School and The Gap High School, which provided him with the chance to be immersed in nature. He continues to live in Mount Glorious and enjoys rainforests and gardens.

Dion has experimented in a large range of mediums and techniques, including lino printing, acrylic painting, and drawing with coloured pencils and oil pastels. He is influenced by his interest in the supernatural and surrealism, but states that most of his paintings come “straight from his mind… going with the flow”.

Dion is a long-standing member of the Brisbane Outsider Artists’ Studio at Access Arts.

Dion has exhibited in a series of exhibitions curated by Access Arts at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital including Time (2019), Dreams (2020), Earth Footprint (2021) and Dancing Colours (2022). He has also exhibited in a series of exhibitions curated by Access Arts at KPMG and Brisbane Powerhouse including Celebrating Difference (2019), Journey to the other side (2020), Visitors (2021) and Looking Back, Looking Forward (2022).
