Michael Mulvey

About Michael Mulvey

Michael’s artwork reflects a keen interest in people, architecture, landscape and daily life. Colour is also an important element in his work; he favours bold and playful tones. Art is an integral part of Michael’s life, as he spends two to three hours drawing each day. For Michael, art is a form of communication and social engagement, while providing a vehicle to process a range of experiences.

In recent years Michael’s preferred medium has become water-based oils on canvas. Michael is a longstanding member of the Brisbane Outsider Artists’ Studio at Access Arts.
Michael has recently exhibited in a series of exhibitions curated by Access Arts at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital including Time (2019), Dreams (2020) and Earth Footprint (2021). He has also exhibited in a series of exhibitions curated by Access Arts at KPMG including Celebrating Difference (2019) and Journey to the other side (2020).

Michael Mulvey's work is currently being exhibited at Brisbane Powerhouse as part of the Visitors exhibition.
