Heyday Programme
The inaugural Heyday Festival is set to hit Cairns across two days in October 2012. Day one sees school students interact with the festival via workshops, tours and activities later opening to the public with a dynamic programme of music, exhibitions and performance. Day two continues with cutting edge multi-arts and presents community projects, art, craft and fashion markets, information and food stalls and more! The festival programme is restricted to 12-30 year old artists so we, young people, can take ownership and drive our project, support and collaborate with each other, showcase and celebrate FNQ’s young talent and progress the FNQ youth arts sector. Coordinator/Mentor Opportunities Heyday Festival is looking for young coordinator and established industry professionals. If you’re aged 18-30, energised, passionate, skilled and interested in: Environmental Sustainability, Music Programming, Production, Sponsorship/Fundraising, Technical (sound/lighting) or Volunteers Management. Auditions
The annual audition for the Brisbane City Council Classical Lunchtime Concert Series will be held in the City Baptist Tabernacle Church, cnr Wickham Tce & Upper Edward St, on Tuesday 29 May between 1:30-4:30pm. This is the ONLY date auditions for the Classical Lunchtime Concerts will be held in 2012. The public is welcome to sit in & listen to these auditions All classical soloists and ensembles are invited to audition. Please email Janelle Colquhoun, the producer of this series at: concerts@salubriousproductions.com to lock in an audition time. You will be emailed an audition form and further information. Please note: This is a paid concert series. Admission is free for the audience. The BCC Classical Lunchtime Concert Series has been running for 71 years. The audiences are predominantly Senior Citizens coming to enjoy an hour of ‘pleasant’ music. Please keep this in mind when auditioning for these concerts & choosing audition pieces.
Brisbane City Council community grants program Access and Inclusion Community Partnership Program A new grant program: Provides funds to community organisations, groups and networks for projects or services that improve access and inclusion in Brisbane. Applicants can apply for an amount between $2,000 and $50,000 Closing Date: 16 April 2012
